CPCCOHS1001A – WORK SAFELY IN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY

Commonly known as a Queensland “White Card” Induction.

The CPCCOHS1001A – Work Safely in the Construction Industry is an induction course designed as a preparatory program prior to commencement of Construction Work in compliance with statutory requirements of the Queensland Workplace Health & Safety Act 1995.

The course includes basic Risk Management concepts, Safe Work Practices and an insight into Workplace Health and Safety legislation and Common Law.

After completing the course participants will have knowledge in –

  • Hazard Identification
  • Risk Management
  • Construction Safety Plans
  • Work Method Statements for High Risk Construction Activities
  • Material Safety Data Sheets
  • Emergency Procedures
  • Fire Fighting Equipment
  • Hazard and Incident Reporting and Recording
  • Roles, Rights and Obligations under Workplace Health and Safety Legislation
  • Duty of Care under Common Law

Workers, Employers, and Self-Employed People undertaking Construction Work in Queensland, other than the REPAIR of fixed plant, ships and submarines, must hold either a –

  • CPCCOHS1001A “White Card” or Statement of Attainment for it issued by a registered training organisation (RTO); or a
  • Foundation for Safety Construction Industry Induction Training Agreement (Red Card) issued in Victoria; or a
  • Work Cover Construction Induction Certificate for the Construction Industry issued in New South Wales (White Card – note NSW Green Cards have expired).
